My name is Georgina Póta, I am a five times Olimpic and European champion table tennis player. I am the professional leader at Póta PingPong and the mother of a six years old girl. I have been playing on a comptetitive level for more than 30 years. Table tennis has become more than just my profession, it is now deeply linked with my life an my passion. This sport has also become a part of my family’s life as well.
Where ping pong is for everyone
We created Póta Pingpong so there could be a place in Budapest where table tennis can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age and skill level. Here people can have serious and intense training sessions, light and entertaining matches with friends or just a place to recharge after a long and tiring day. My goal is to establish a sports center where everyone gets motivated to play table tennis by just walking in. I want Póta Pingpong to become this place, where a friendly and inspiring enviroment keeps people happy when they are playing.
I believe, that success does not just come down to talent, but also our enviroment and many other details. I am proud of the achievements i have already reached. Here are some of my records:
International viewpoint in Zugló, Budapest
My path started when i was 5 years old and joined the legendary Statisztika PSC Club, there I learned the highest possible level of skill, which i keep at that level since. As an active competitor i am currently part of the Greek top division and the Erdért SE hungarian teams. I learned how to really adapt tot he challenging nature of table tennis during international tournaments where i had to specilifically adapt to defensive playstyle and playsytles that focused on pips.
As the Professional Leader at Póta PingPong I wish to teach using all my experience and dedication. I would like to make this table tennis hall into a premium sports center where a professional training enviroment meets high-quality entertainment and fun. I am responsible for the whole playing area an all it’s aspects, from the joint-friendly floor covering tot he perfect lighting, so that the table tennis hall at Póta Pingpong can provide the high-qualiry performance standard that I believe in.
The values of table tennis
What means more to me than any medal is the community and experience that this fantastic sport has given me. Table tennis simultaneously develops concentration, speed, sense of rhythm and endurance. It teaches patience, respect and values that accompany you on the court and in everyday life. And perhaps more importantly, it builds bridges between people, creates new friendships and puts smiles on faces.
